Virginia Opossum (Didelphis virginiana)

The scavenging Opossum is the only marsupial in the Midwest. Opossums are small but intelligent creatures, they will clean up parts of the carcass most predators will abandon. Opossum also feed on insects such as ticks helping protect and save other wildlife species.
