Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

The Bald Eagle is an important relative of Ina Maka. Once dwindling in numbers the Bald Eagle made a great comeback. They are now thriving across rivers and have regained most of their territories across all of North America. The Bald Eagle is a favorite among many and the adult can be easily spotted soaring in the skies or perched across the trees of the Midwest landscape. Eagles are strong and brave and are often the symbol of honor. Eagle feathers are highly important coming as a gift from the Eagle itself. The Bald Eagle is the highest flyer of our bird relatives and watches over all other animals as a protector. Bald Eagles gather in Minnesota in large numbers in a spectacle like no other.
