Shore and Water birds

Shorebirds

All birds that live next to water and feed on the edges of wetlands are part of the shore and water bird section. Many of these species go through great migrations and are only present when our waterways are open and thriving with life. Keeping waterways clean from pollution is vital for shorebird activity. Some of these relatives wander and hunt right beside us and go unnoticed. These birds are extremely stealthy and skilled in fishing for minnows and small invertebrates. The next time you are out near any body of water keep your eyes open for movement for our water relatives.
