Hummingbirds

The hummingbird is a special being with quick speed and great flying abilities. They can flap their wings quicker than any other bird species. Although most species of hummingbirds make their homes in warmer climates, here in the Great Plains and Midwest we have an abundance of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. They can be spotted feeding in some of the most colorful prairie flowers. Added to this section below are two other Hummingbird species that I have encountered.
